Autumn's Blog of the Week

 Autumn’s News Report


  • Monday we had a snow day

  • Tuesday was pj’s or college/sports day

  • Wednesday was Ultimate bobcat day

  • Thursday was USA day

  • Friday was Letter Day



On Tuesday we got hot chocolate and read to our buddy class. Wednesday we got to listen to some congregation members and their time at Zion. On Thursday we got to watch the 8th Grade vs. Teachers volleyball game. Friday was the Pep Assembly. The cheerleaders performed during it. Mr. Maddick led it and had a great message.

Updates for NLSW

 National Lutheran Schools Week provides more than 1,800 preschools, elementary schools and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work among us in schools of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

We thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve. We are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus’ amazing love with your child and your family!!


Special events this week:

Sat/Sunday - Art Fair in Welcome Center

Sunday - Teachers sponsor coffee hour 9:00-9:30 a.m.  Come enjoy a treat before Sunday School! Zion Open House 12-2 p.m.

Monday - PJ day!  We'll watch a movie in our PJs for a class period!

Tuesday - College/Sports day!  We will be buddies with Mrs. Cooper's preschool class and enjoy                  

Swiss MIss cocoa at our morning break.

Wednesday - Ultimate Bobcat Spirit Day!  REMEMBER CHAPEL OFFERINGS  

Connections with Zion Congregation - we will visit with several Zion members who will share about vocation and serving God.

Thursday - USA Day! We'll enjoy the teacher/8th grade volleyball game 

Friday - Letter Day!  Mr. Maddick will lead us in a special devotion and a pep assembly. 

 

Other specials - Connection to the community - making valentines for seniors

                          Online Mission to Australia through Lutheran Hour Ministries 

 


 

Valentines Day - It is optional for students in middle school to bring in Valentines.  If your child wishes to, please bring a card for everyone in the class.  (See class info tab for names.).  NO GIFT EXCHANGES allowed on campus and kids may NOT pass out candy, per Zion's handbook policy.  We will hold a small class party to celebrate on Feb. 14.

Noah & Jack's News Report!

     The news report of the week!

Religion: In Religion we started learning about Ruth and her life of hardship.


English: there is a test next thursday


Math: there is a unit test coming up


Lit: In Lit. we are reading the book Blended.


Social studies: In S.S. we are studying the Panama Canal, and making slide shows of states in the Mexico region.


Science: there was a test this friday


Gym:  We played a game and you had to throw a ball at cups


Computer lab: In Computer lab we are working on coding talbots to make jokes.


Art: In Art 6D is making vanishing point room art while 6R is making glue fish.



Just a reminder- report cards came home on Friday, please make sure your child gave it to you! We had a great 2nd quarter, I cannot believe that our school year is half-way done! Scarlett and Jack's News of the Week

 This week, we started a new book and it is called Blended. We made a New Year's Resolution in english.  We did a personality test. We started a new art project called perspective art. We practiced the spelling bee.  T-math has a math test on Monday. We started a new unit in English this week on pronouns.

January Chapel Offering

 For January, our chapel offerings will go to the Global Kids Fund of Lutheran Hour Ministries to spread the gospel to children internationally   Here is the website that shows several of their international projects including our partner in Australia, Lutheran Media, who offer a website geared toward children called Happyland.
